Can LMU alumni access the library resources online?
Unfortunately, most online databases are leased, not owned; the contracts issued by database vendors do not offer access off campus for alumni or others who are not currently part of the active LMU community.
However, if you come to the Library, you can register for a computer login to use our Information Commons computers to access these databases. Alumni can get a free OneCard at the LMU OneCard office, and then sign up for a guest login at the Information Desk. For more information about alumni benefits, see here: http://library.lmu.edu/usingthelibrary/services/alumni/
Theology alumni might be interested in the following resources:
The Library subscribes to the alumni versions of the ATLA Religion Database for Alum, and to the ATLASerials Database for Alum which includes over 300 full-text journal titles. You'll need to request a login and instructions from Hannon Library to get signed up for these two databases, which you will be able to access off campus.
Also, there is an ATLA database, Research in Ministry, (RIM) which indexes theses and doctoral projects from theological schools accredited by ATS, and also the Cooperative Digital Resources Initiative (CRDI), which brings together digital images and other information from participating theological schools. Both of these are free, open access databases.
