The library doesn't collect all textbooks for all courses offered at LMU. If the textbooks are available and are placed on reserve by your instructor, you can borrow the books for about 3 hours but the book cannot leave the library. Reserves books are held behind the Circulation Desk - stop by the Circulation Desk to check them out. Be sure to ask your professor beforehand if he or she has put the textbooks on reserve in the library.  Search the reserves catalog by instructor name or course name.

If the textbook cannot be found at the Circulation Desk on reserve, try searching the Library Catalog.  You can also check LINK+, our interlibrary loan service (Link+ is free but takes up to 4 business days to arrive). Link+ books are available for a limited checkout only- one 3-week checkout and one possible 3-week renewal.

Textbooks may also be available for purchase or rental at the LMU Bookstore.  Check the Bookstore and once you find your course, check to see if the textbooks are available at the bookstore for purchase or rental.
